Opportunity Spotlight
for Singing Actors and Performers
As we officially launch Common Measure, we are excited to begin sharing opportunities, resources, and updates that align with our mission to connect and inspire musicians, performers, and creative communities.
Common Measure exists to honor musical legacy while actively supporting today’s artists. As part of this work, we see it as essential to surface opportunities that can open doors, expand visibility, and support sustainable creative careers. This is one of many opportunities we will continue to share as our organization grows.
We would like to make our community aware of the 2026 Lotte Lenya Competition, a highly regarded international competition for singing actors. This competition is designed for performers who demonstrate both strong vocal ability and compelling dramatic storytelling across musical styles.
The competition is open to performers of all nationalities between the ages of 19 and 32. Finalists compete for significant cash prizes, national recognition, and the chance to perform before distinguished jurors and live audiences. Notably, there is no application fee, helping ensure access for emerging artists.
Applications are currently open, with a submission deadline of February 4, 2026. The semifinal and final rounds will take place in New York City and Rochester, New York.
If you or someone in your network may be a good fit for this opportunity, we encourage you to review the full details here:
