Art Fusion

Common Measure's Art Fusion program bridges music with other creative mediums, offering musicians the opportunity to collaborate in film, theater, visual art, and more. By integrating music into diverse artistic projects, we aim to expand musicians' professional horizons, foster cross-disciplinary connections, and build a vibrant community of artists. Our inaugural installment pairs musicians with a film nonprofit, merging music and cinema to create unique, collaborative experiences.

A Music -Themed Short Film

We're looking for a high school age student with musical and acting talent for the co-star role.

The character is a music therapy student who connects with a dying, woman through music, exploring themes of reconciliation and understanding.

Requirements:

  • 16-18 Years Old

  • Excellent Piano skills

  • Classical Music training

  • Confident and comfortable performing in front of others

Art Fusion: Cadence — Frequently Asked Questions

  •  A: Art Fusion is Common Measure’s cross-disciplinary program that bridges music with creative mediums like film, visual art, and theater. It gives musicians the chance to collaborate on innovative, multimedia projects built to expand their artistic horizons

  •  A: Cadence is the inaugural short music-themed film under Art Fusion, produced by Common Measure. We’re looking for a high school–aged musician actor to co‑star in this emotionally driven narrative about a music therapy student connecting with a dying woman through music

  •  A: The role is open to students aged 16–18, with excellent piano skills, classical music training, and confidence performing in front of others

  •  A:

    1. Submit the online questionnaire (name, email, phone, music experience, short bio, personal statement).

    2. Within THREE WEEKS, receive an audition packet with further instructions and materials

  • A: You should discuss:

    • How music has impacted your life

    • Why this opportunity matters to you

    • What you hope to gain by participating in Art Fusion

  •  A: You’ll receive a link to the audition packet via email within THREE WEEKS of submission. That packet will include audition instructions, materials, and next steps in the timeline.

  •  A: Followup from auditions will only occur if you are asked to a “callback”,  A.K.A. -another audition. After final selection, all who submitted an audition will receive a thank you and other ways of connecting with Common Measure and the community through other programs and opportunities.
