Communities in Harmony:
A World Singing Project
Presented by Common Measure
MISSION
Communities in Harmony (CiH) is a one-day, pop-up choir experience that brings together people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to sing in harmony—no musical training required. Our goal is to build community, foster joy, and support collective healing through the universal language of music.
HOW IT WORKS
Participants gather for a half-day workshop where they learn, rehearse, and ultimately perform a single uplifting song together. Led by skilled facilitators, these events are designed to be welcoming, judgment-free, and inclusive—emphasizing process over perfection.
OUR IMPACT
Creates social connection and emotional healing through music
Engages underserved and rural communities with accessible, live music
Encourages community pride and collaboration across differences
Sparks joy and builds confidence in participants of all ages
WHY NOW?
In a time of division and disconnection, singing together is a radical act of unity. Our project taps into music’s power to heal, affirm, and connect.
GROWTH VISION
CiH seeks to bring this experience to 10+ cities annually, with a focus on communities historically excluded from arts access. Future events will be offered free of charge, thanks to sponsorships, grants, and community support.
GET INVOLVED
We’re seeking partners, venues, and supporters—including arts funders and local foundations—who believe in music’s ability to transform lives.
